Women's Dress Shoes
Have a night on the town coming up? Looking for a new pair of heels? You have come to the right place. Here you can find everything you need to know about women's dress shoes to help you find the perfect pair for your next evening out.
Dress shoes are about style, they are about fashion, they are about everything else that you are wearing. Often we do not buy a pair of dress shoes for the sake of the shoes, rather we buy them as they are perfect for an outfit we will wear them with. (But lets be honest too, often we just buy them because they are there and they are a great pair of shoes)
Boutique Women's Dress Shoes
Boutique shoes are usually the most formal type of dress shoe. It is in these styles that you will find the big, expensive brand shoes. The emphasis with this style of shoe is elegance and sophistication. Despite this though, boutique dress shoes are not constrained to formal high heels, there are a huge variety of shoe styles to choose from including heels, sandals, flip flops and boots. The main point with boutique shoes is show. Much effort has gone into design and you pay for this effort. So even a pair of sandals or flip flops will look smashing, but be expensive.
High Heeled Dress Shoes
Heels are the classic dress shoe, our favorite look, despite the pain they cause. When worn correctly, they just make the lines of your legs so much longer... sexier. Wearing a great set of heels makes you feel so much more like a woman, don't they. Perfect for a special occasion, they perfect the look that an elegant dress begins. The higher the heels get though, the less suitable they are for every day use. Better to save those 6 inch shoes for the special occasion.
Flat Women's Shoes
Flat dress shoes are a great mix of the elegance of the boutique shoe combined with a practicality which means you can wear these shoes every day. It is for this reason that flats are perfect for office wear, where the business is very conservative and professional. Dress flats are the perfect accompaniment to the beautiful Armani suit for example and because they do not stress your legs and back as some high heels do, you can wear them every day.
Platform Dress Shoes
Platform dress shoes are those which come with the thicker sole, typically through the whole shoe, including under the ball and toes. Platforms are definitely a style which appeals to a certain taste. Personally I have never really gone for them, always preferring elegance. The thicker style always looked a little too clunky to me, but as I said, that is just my preference. I have seen plenty of platforms worn tremendously well, so I know they do work, just not with my legs.
Wedge Style Women's Shoes
The wedge style of shoe are those that have a heel of some height, but the heel is connected throughout the sole of the shoe to the toe. So the entire bottom of the shoe from heel to toe walks along the ground, even though the heel is elevated. Once again, wedges are a preference shoe, you either love them or you don't. My preference, I think if you are going to wear heels you should enjoy the full elegance heels can give. I think wedges hide this elegance a little.
